WMH was established in 1929 with only four blocks serving as the OPD, Administration, Consulting Rooms, and Recovery Ward. Over time, it has grown into a leading municipal hospital serving the people of the Effutu Municipality and adjoining districts.
The hospital is strategically located in the centre of Winneba Township, with accessible road networks that make it convenient for patients from nearby districts such as Effutu, Gomoa West, Awutu Senya East, Gomoa Central, and Agona West.
